Gombe State Ministries Departments and Agencies in Gombe State have restated commitment to ensure accountability, transparency, efficiency and productivity in running the affairs of government through effective leadership and management.
The Permanent Commissioner II of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kumo made the commitment at a three-day training on Leadership and Management organised by USAID funded State Accountability Transparency and Effectiveness (State2State) Activity, held in Bauchi.
Dr Abubakar Kumo said showing good leadership and responsive management of available resources were key towards achieving transparency, accountability and social inclusiveness in governance.
He expressed gratitude to USAID State2State Activity for engaging the state high level government officials, saying that the training was apt and inline with global best practice
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary Gombe State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Abdulrahman Shu’aibu also assured State2State of his resolve to transform service delivery despite its complex nature.
Dr. Shu’aibu called on State2State Activity to come up with a similar training for intermediate and junior personnel of relevant MDAs in the state to strengthen their capacity for improved service delivery.
The Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry for Water Resources, Malam Salihu Adamu Sambo who admitted that the Leadership and Management training had widen their horizon, added that the State2State Activity would continue to be remembered even after the expiration of its timeframe.
In a remark, the Acting Chief of Party, USAID State2State Activity, Mr. John Onyeakwu commended Gombe State Government for
providing enabling environment and assured to sustain the existing relationship with the state towards ensuring development in the three key thematic areas of the activity.
He appreciated the Resource Person, State Team Lead, and participants for their maturity and patience throughout the training.
