Gombe state police command arrests inspector for shooting a driver.

The Gombe State Police Command has arrested a police inspector Urbanus Ishaku for allegedly shooting a trailer driver Abdullahi Bello while conducting stop and search along Dukku – Darazo Road.
This is contained in a statement issued by the police public relations officer, Gombe state Command, SP Obed Mary Malum.
According to the Statement, the inspector while conducting stop and search operation at Gombe -Abba Police nipping point, along Darazo Road, shot the driver on his buttocks and was rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, where he is currently receiving treatment.
It added that, the inspector has been arrested and is under interrogation at State CID where Investigation is on-going and disciplinary action will be taken against him.
The statement further said that the Gombe state Commissioner of Police, CP Ishola Babaita wishes to enjoin all the peace loving citizens of Gombe State to stay calm as the Police will not tolerate any act of indiscipline from any Police Officer explaining that any Policeman caught in reckless use of his firearm will be dealt with decisively in accordance with the law.
