Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has called for establishment of Federal Court of Appeal in the State to bring justice close to the people.
He made the call during a Ramadan Breakfast with Judges of the state High Court as well as Shari’a court in Government House.
Bala Mohammed said establishment of the court of appeal is imperative and long over due considering the state’s growing population and increasing number of Civil and criminal cases.
The Governor who expressed concern with absence of the court regreted that all appeal cases from the state are being referred to neighboring states of Plateau and Gombe.
He charged the State Judiciary to join the state government in advocating for the establishment of the court to ease dispensation of justice.
Speaking on behalf of the judges, the state Grand Khadi Alh. Umaru Ahmad Liman appreciated the Governor for his commitment to reposition the state judicial system.
