Gov. Bala Mohammed Signs 12 Bills into Law: Pledges improved Security Operations, Job Creation.

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has signed into law twelve bills passed by the State House of Assembly.

They are among others a law for establishment of the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment 2022 which seeks to engage more youth into vigilante groups to enhance security operations across the state.

Also assented was a law to establish division of college of agriculture in Bauchi State University as well as a law to establish the State Road and Traffic Agency 2022 BAROTA to effectively control road traffic violations in the state capital.

Affixing his signature on the bills, Governor Bala Mohammed said the move was to provide legal framework for the general operations of some government agencies and improve the lives of the citizens.

Bala Mohammed called on relevant agencies to acquaint themselves with details of the new laws for proper implementation.

Presenting the bills to the Governor for assent, the Speaker of the State Assembly Abubakar Sulaiman said out of the twelve bills, eleven were emaneted for the executive arm while one came from the House.

While commending the Governor for priotizing Security and welfare of the citizens, the speaker also called for implementation of the laws.

Other bills signed into law by the Governor include a law for establishment of the state and local government contributory pension scheme 2022, a law to repeal Bauchi State University Establishment Law and Enact a law to establish Sa’adu Zungur University 2022 among others.
