Gov. Buni Signs 2023 appropriation bill into law.

The Governor of Yobe State Hon. Mai Mala Buni has signed into law the 2023 appropriation and finance bill.

Speaking at the event took place at the WAWA Hall of the government in Damaturu, Governor Buni said, the 2023 appropriation bill which was tagged the Budget of Continuity, consolidation and economic transformation will focus on the completion of ongoing capital projects across the state.

The Governor pointed out that on 11th November, 2022 he presented the 2023 proposed budget estimate of the total sum of ₦163,155,366,000. to the Yobe State House of Assembly for delibration and passage into law.

He explained that in line With the oversight function, the honourable house made some adjustments by downsizing the total Budget to ₦163,005,366,000.

Buni further commended the Yobe state house of assembly, for the timely passage of the budget, Noting that prompt passage of the 2023 budget indicated the cordial working relationship between the two arms of government in the state.

Earlier in his remarks, the Speaker Yobe State House of Assembly, Ahmed Lawan Mirwa, explained that the quick passage of the bill was a result of the earlier submission of the Budget.

He assured the legislative continue a cordial working relationship with the executive arm of the government.
