GOVERNOR BALA MOHAMMAD TO PRESENT THE 2022 APPROPRIATION BILL ON THURSDAY THIS WEEK.

A bill to promote children’s access to basic education has passed second reading at the Bauchi state house of assembly.

This followed the adoption of prayers on the bill at plenary presided over by Deputy Speaker Danlami Ahmed Kawule.

Sponsor of the bill and member representing Ningi Central Abubakar Suleiman noted that the bill which was passed by some states of the country need to be replicated to ensure children reach their potential.

Abubakar Suleiman who is the Speaker of the house explained that when passed, the bill would give children at the age of five access to quality education in the state.

He said the bill will also ensure parents and school authorities pay regular attention to children’s performance and punctuality for improved learning.

The house after deliberations referred the bill to it’s committee on education for further legislative action.

Still during the plenary, the house called on government to take proactive measures towards arresting the problem of erosion in Mainamaji, Gajin-duguri, Duguri, Digare, Yalo and Futuk all in Alkaleri local government area of the state.

This is squeal to a motion moved by member representing Duguri Gwana Constituency in Alkaleri local government, Bala Abdullahi Dan.

Bala Dan said about seventy percent of streets at the affected towns were destroyed by flood hence the need for relevant committees of the house to inspect the area with a view to find lasting solution.

The house also received a letter of request from Governor Bala Muhammad to present the 2022 appropriation bill on Thursday this week.
