Health Sector: NPHCDA Wants Bauchi To Address Human Resource Inadequacies

National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) wants Bauchi State Government to implement its 10-year strategic plan on human resource for health to address shortage of manpower in the sector across the state.
Dr. Tafida Maman, National Emergency for Maternal and Child Health Intervention Centre of NPHCDA made the call when he led a team to an advocacy visit to the State Deputy Governor Muhammad Auwal Jatau in his office.
Dr. Maman said the shortage of manpower in the state’s health care system was very alarming hence the need for the State Government to implement the strategic plan to strengthen its health care workforce.
According to him, the team was in the state to train and retrain health care personnel especially in the area maternal and child health with a view to address mortality and morbidity.

On his part, the State Deputy Governor Muhammad Auwal Jatau said with the achievement so far in the health sector by Governor Bala Mohammed led administration, the state was ready to partner with any organization wishing to improve healh care service to the people.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary State Ministry of health Ali Babayo said presently the state government has recruited more health workers in different fields apart from construction, and renovation of health facilities.
He said the state had also equipped and upgraded other health facilities to General hospitals as part of effort to boost health care system across the state.
