IDPs Fleeing Geidam to Receive Trucks of Relief Materials From Bauchi State Govt’t.

Bauchi State Government is to commence distribution of relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons taking refuge in four local government areas of Darazo, Dambam, Gamawa and Zaki.
The IDPs were reported to have fled Communities in Geidam local government area of Yobe state following the recent attacks by insurgents.
The Special Adviser to the state Governor Bala Mohammed on Media Comrade Muktar Gidado made this known while addressing newsmen in Government House Bauchi.
Comrade Muktar Gidado said the move was to alleviate the plights of the IDPs in the affected areas noting that arrangement have been concluded for the commencement of the distribution tomorrow Wednesday.
Items to be distributed include one thousand seven and fifty bags of rice, one thousand and fifty bags of maize, one thousand seven hundred and fifty bags of sorghum, three hundred and fifty packs of suger and three thousand cartons of Indomie.
Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to the Governor has described as misleading, the news reports in some social media platforms and national dailies that members of Boko Haram insurgents have raided the local governments.
According to him, the report was complete misrepresentation of the recent address by the Secretary to the State Government Muhammad Sabi’u Baba where he made it clear that the state government was taking stringent measures to deny infringement of insurgents.
He called on the Media to always cross-check their facts before making it public to avoid creating unnecessary confusion.
