Attah Sisters Helping Hands (ASHH) Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to advocate and promote women\u2019s and girls\u2019 issues to drive the necessary change in their economic and social development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Executive Director of ASHH Foundation, Ms Comfort Attah, stated this at a two-day Capacity Building Workshop in commemoration of International Women\u2019s Day 2025, themed \u201cAccelerate Action.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms Attah described this year\u2019s theme as timely, highlighting the role every individual must play in accelerating action to end discrimination against women\u2019s rights and achieve the desired change in gender equity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Executive Director, who emphasised the crucial contributions of women to political, economic, and social development, stressed that their rights must not be undermined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She commended Women for Women International for its support in advancing the cause of women\u2019s and girls\u2019 rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a presentation, the Bauchi State Coordinator of the National Human Rights Commission, Ms Yachit Dala, emphasised issues surrounding women\u2019s rights, dignity, and discrimination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She called on communities to take the lead in ensuring protection and justice for survivors of Gender Based Violence (GBV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another resource person, Dr Isaac Crown, emphasised the need for all citizens to prioritise gender equality, equity, justice, inclusiveness and responsiveness in their engagements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
