The Yobe State House of Assembly has resumed plenary and taken a significant step to address challenges in the state’s healthcare and education sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the session, presided over by Speaker Chiroma Buba Mashio, the House approved a report from its Standing Committee on Primary Healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The report focuses on the operations and performance of the Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA) and the Yobe State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (YODMA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The approval signals the Assembly\u2019s commitment to strengthening the healthcare system and aligning with the state\u2019s goal of achieving universal health coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The House also received a report from its Standing Committee on Basic and Secondary Education for review. The committee extensively deliberated on the report, which evaluates the state of education and proposes solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the House Committee on Disciplinary Matters recommended stepping down a petition against the Chairman of Potiskum Local Government, Alhaji Salisu Mutari, which had been under review, without disclosing the reasons for the decision during the plenary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaker Mashio commended members for their diligence during the committee phase and urged them to remain focused as the House further deliberates on other reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
