The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning (AGILE) component 2.1 embarked on a conditional Cash transfer CCT monitoring visit to Bebeji Local Government Area in Kano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The primary objective of the visit was to sensitize relevant stakeholders about the importance of the AGILE and Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) in promoting girls\u2019 education<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the visit, the Deputy Team Lead of Component 2.1 Hajiya Abu Umar Muhammad, explained that the CCT was awarded to beneficiaries, with new beneficiaries receiving \u20a640,000 and old ones receiving \u20a620,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She hinted that, the funds are intended to support female students in purchasing books and uniforms for their educational development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deputy team lead explained that, the AGILE initiative is primarily concerned with promoting girls\u2019 education, aiming to enable girls to enroll, retain, complete, and excel in their education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also speaking the zonal director Kiru education directorate Bashir Ya\u2019u noted that, they were at Bebeji for CCT disbursemnt to motivate female enrollment, retention and completion of education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that, the AGILE program also emphasizes the importance of using the CCT for education support rather than personal requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Principal of Girls Science and Technical College Bebeji, Hajiya Farida Jibril Garba, commended the initiative\u2019s impact on girls\u2019 education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She noted that AGILE has reduced the number of dropouts in the community and improved students\u2019 appearance and self-reliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some of the Beneficiaries who spoke to Radio Nigeria Aisha Muhammad and Binta Musa promised to make judicious use of the CCT funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighted of the occasion includes songs performance by students to express their joy about the CCT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The AGILE project Is part of a broader effort to improve secondary education opportunities for adolescent girls in Nigeria, addressing socio-cultural and financial constraints that hinder their access to education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
