{"id":1289,"date":"2025-04-04T17:35:37","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T17:35:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionigerianortheast.gov.ng\/?p=1289"},"modified":"2025-04-04T17:35:41","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T17:35:41","slug":"kano-state-to-prioritize-welfare-and-integration-of-persons-with-disabilities-commissioner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionigerianortheast.gov.ng\/?p=1289","title":{"rendered":"Kano State to Prioritize Welfare and Integration of Persons with Disabilities-Commissioner"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Khadija Aliyu <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and inclusion of persons with special needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, made the declaration while receiving the leadership of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disability in his office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He emphasized that disability should not be a cause for despair, but rather a source of motivation for self-reliance and personal development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comrade Waiya highlighted the unique talents of persons with special needs, which can contribute significantly to the development of Kano State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He assured the Joint National Association of Persons with Disability of his dedication to ensuring their inclusion in government support and empowerment programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Commissioner also pledged to collaborate with the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children and the Disabled to ensure individuals with disabilities benefit from developmental initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGovernor Abba Kabir Yusuf\u2019s compassionate leadership is commited to supporting the welfare and integration of persons with special needs into society\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chairman of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disability, Muhammad Musa Shaga, called for the establishment of a state Commission for persons with Disabilities to oversee their welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He expressed confidence in Governor Yusuf\u2019s administration to continue championing their welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Khadija Aliyu Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and inclusion of persons with special needs.
