{"id":1453,"date":"2025-04-18T19:15:42","date_gmt":"2025-04-18T19:15:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionigerianortheast.gov.ng\/?p=1453"},"modified":"2025-04-18T19:15:48","modified_gmt":"2025-04-18T19:15:48","slug":"zamfara-records-over-8000-applications-for-500-teaching-vacancies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionigerianortheast.gov.ng\/?p=1453","title":{"rendered":"Zamfara Records Over 8,000 Applications for 500 Teaching Vacancies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Aminu Dalhatu<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over 8,000 applicants have shown interest in filling 500 teaching vacancies in Zamfara State, as part of a phased recruitment of 2,000 teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The teacher recruitment exercise is in line with the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project to enhance girls\u2019 education in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chairman of the Recruitment Committee and Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed Tukur, revealed this during a radio programme in Gusau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the recruitment would take place in four stages, with 500 teachers employed per batch to ensure transparency and efficiency in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first phase will focus on core science subjects such as Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and ICT as well as English language with applications received through an online portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Malam Wadato Madawaki, noted that the state had not recruited teachers in the past 12 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He expressed hope that with World Bank support through the AGILE project, the sector will improve, especially in rural areas where teacher shortage is acute.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Aminu Dalhatu Over 8,000 applicants have shown interest in filling 500 teaching vacancies in Zamfara State, as part of a phased recruitment of 2,000 teachers.
