The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON says over thirty four thousand Nigerian pilgrims have successfully received their Nusuk permits, as the Commission intensifies efforts to ensure the remaining pilgrims are not left behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NAHCON’s Commissioner of Planning, Research, Statistics, Information and Library Services, Professor Abubakar Yagawal, who oversees all committee operations in Madinah, gave the update while speaking with our Correspondent Mubarak Mahmood and a group of other journalists in his office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Professor Yagawal said the commission always demonstrates commitment to the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims in Madinah with remarkable progress through its committees on accommodation, feeding, healthcare and religious guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the area of feeding, Professor Yagawal said professional catering companies have been engaged to provide meals that reflect the traditional Nigerian menu, helping pilgrims feel at home while performing their religious duties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NAHCON Commissioner who said no death has been recorded so far, however revealed that its medical have reported a successful childbirth among the Nigerian contingents, noting that medical personnel are always on the check at pilgrims\u2019 lodgings to respond to any emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He explained that Ulamas and Preachers who have been grouped into young scholars, veterans and Fatawa teams to handle religious inquiries from pilgrims, are actively engaging with them by visiting their places of accommodations to offer moral guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the challenges encountered by some pilgrims to access the Raudah, Yagawal reminded pilgrims that visitations especially the Rawdah are not mandatory in Islam, as only 5,000 Nigerian pilgrims have so far entered Raudah under the new system introduced by the Saudi authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He used the opportunity to appeal to those that have no access to the newly introduced app to remain patient as the Kingdom’s policies now require pilgrims to apply through the Nusuk mobile application before visiting sacred sites, particularly tue Raudah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
