The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has confirmed a fire incident at a hotel in Makkah accommodating Nigerian pilgrims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident occurred earlier today at around 12 noon Saudi time on Shari Mansur Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The affected hotel, Imaratus Sanan, was hosting 484 Nigerian pilgrims from six private tour operator companies and all pilgrims are now safe in Mina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The swift response of Saudi emergency services, along with hotel management, helped contain the fire and prevent it from spreading throughout the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the incident, NAHCON Chairman Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman visited the scene alongside top officials including the Commissioner for Policy, Personnel Management and Finance, Alhaji Aliu Abdulrazak and Deputy Makkah Coordinator, Director Alidu Shutti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the visit, Professor Abdullahi expressed concern and immediately ordered the relocation of all affected pilgrims to a new accommodation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He assured them of NAHCON\u2019s full support and emphasized the Commission\u2019s commitment to their welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chairman also thanked Almighty Allah for the safety of all pilgrims and commended the cooperation of the hotel staff and the swift intervention of Saudi emergency responders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arrangements for resettlement have already been concluded, with the Chairman and his team inspecting the new building to ensure comfort and safety for the relocated pilgrims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
