The Global Fund, Covid-19 Response Mechanism (C19RM) Project has in 2025 Quarter 2, recorded 37 reported cases of Gender Based Violence (GBV) in five Local Government Areas of Bauchi state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
State Programme Officer, C19RM Grant, Dauda Makka stated this at a Media Round Table meeting while presenting an overview of the project’s activities for the 2025 Quarter 2 in the five implementing local government areas of Bauchi, Darazo, Katagum, Misau and Tafawa Balewa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dauda Makka said out of the 37 cases, 19 were referred to service providers and 11 were successful resolved during the period under review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted the 19 referred cases, represents 51% of the total number reported, while the eleven resolved cases represents 57% of the completed referred cases, highlighting the numbers were computed under the coordination of Network of People Living With HIV and AIDS in Nigeria, NEPWHAN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the State Programme Officer, there was the need for implementing Community Based Organisations to ensure accurate documentation of evere single activity conducted, for appropriate referencing and evidence based presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an interview, the Coordinator of Bauchi State TB Network, Aminu Wagani said despite the achievements recorded, there were some gaps that needs to be addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wagani said the challenges include oversight to contact traditional and religious leaders, as well as disregard to culture of the locals by CBOs during initial programme implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He expressed TB Network’s satisfaction over the successes recorded during the period under review and urged all stakeholders to be focused and resilient in the discharge of their assigned duties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some of the concerns raised by participants include adherence to proper channel of communication, improving payment system to community-led monitoring teams, adherence to 2025 MoU agreement and resolving weak relationship between facilities” staff and community leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Radio Nigeria reports that the objective of the Media Round Table meeting was to elevate the achievements and successes recorded on the Global Fund\/NACA\/RSSH-C19RM project currently implemented by the Community Based Organizations (CBOs) from the HIV\/AIDS, Tuberculosis & Malaria (ATM) networks in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was also to share the value and level of impact the project has contributed with stakeholders which serves as a drive for more engagement and synergy for further implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
