Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, on Saturday attended the combined 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th Convocation Ceremony of the Federal University of Kashere, where distinguished Nigerians were honoured with honorary doctorate degrees in recognition of their outstanding contributions to national development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ceremony, held at the university\u2019s indoor sports arena, attracted dignitaries from across the country, including members of the National Assembly, traditional rulers, academics, and captains of industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In their separate remarks, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Prof. William Olusola Oju-Aderounmu, and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Umar A. Pate, commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his unwavering support towards the growth of the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They particularly appreciated his administration\u2019s allocation of 150 hectares of land for the university\u2019s expansion, efforts in enhancing security, and the cordial relationship maintained with the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to them, Governor Inuwa Yahaya remains a dependable partner, consistently responding to the university\u2019s needs and interventions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also speaking at the occasion, former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, one of the recipients of the honorary degrees, lauded Governor Yahaya for his purposeful and people-centered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other honourees at the convocation included the Chairman, House Committee on Appropriations, Rep. Abubakar Kabir Bichi; Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate; and the African Director of the MacArthur Foundation, Dr. Kole Ahmed Shettima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Governor Inuwa Yahaya congratulated the awardees and the graduating students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He praised the university management for promoting academic excellence and contributing to national development through education and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Governor also reiterated his administration\u2019s commitment to supporting the Federal University of Kashere and other academic institutions across the state in their mandate to produce skilled graduates for national progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The convocation was graced by the representative of the Visitor to the University, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; former Governor of Gombe State and Senator representing Gombe Central, Sen. Muhammad Danjuma Goje; Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo; Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi; and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alh. Abubakar Inuwa Kari, among other top dignitaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
