The Yobe State Executive Council (EXCO), has approved a total of N40 billion for various projects aimed at boosting agricultural production, improving healthcare delivery, and enhancing infrastructure development in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The approval was given during the council’s meeting held on Wednesday, the 30th of July 2025, presided over by the State Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana, in Damaturu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Briefing journalists on the outcome shortly after the Executive Council meeting, the Commissioner of Home Affairs Information and Culture, Abdullahi Bego, pointed out that some of the approved projects include: Construction of office complexes for five agencies, which comprised: the Bureau for Public Procurement and the Agency for Public-Private Partnership and Investment Promotion, for N1.767 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Construction of an office building for the Yobe Investment Company Ltd. at a cost of N962.6 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Construction of Machina Modern Market for N2.787 billion, Completion of Potiskum Modern Market at a cost of N3.986 billion and Establishment of a Central Motor Park in Damaturu at a cost of N6.131 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Commissioner the council also approved funds for agricultural inputs, including:
Procurement of agricultural inputs for dry season farming at a cost of N3.799 billion, Procurement of 490 solar-powered water pumps for small-scale irrigation farmers at a cost of N480.2 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the healthcare sector, the council approved:
Absorption of 422 new health workers, including midwives, Community Health Extension Workers, and Community-Based Health Workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He, therefore, explained that the EXCO has also approved N1.229 billion for Procurement of medical and laboratory equipment for secondary and tertiary healthcare facilities across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commissioner added that the council further approved funds for road construction projects, including:
Construction of 5KM Daya-Fadawa road at a cost of N1.248 billion, 18.5km Mashio-Ngelzarma road at a cost of N4.384 billion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
