{"id":2544,"date":"2025-08-27T11:47:16","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T11:47:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionigerianortheast.gov.ng\/?p=2544"},"modified":"2025-08-27T11:47:21","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T11:47:21","slug":"gombe-ssg-calls-for-mandatory-teacher-training-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionigerianortheast.gov.ng\/?p=2544","title":{"rendered":"Gombe SSG Calls for Mandatory Teacher Training Framework"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Yusuf Muhammad <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Secretary to the Gombe State Government, SSG Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has called for a mandatory framework to ensure the training and retraining of teachers in both primary and secondary schools in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He made the call while receiving the Chairperson of Gombe State Teachers Service Commission, TSC Na\u2019omi Philip Maiguwa, and her team in his office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Professor Njodi, a former educationist, expressed concern over the declining standard of education in the country, blaming both government neglect and societal attitudes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He praised Governor Inuwa Yahaya for establishing the Teachers Training Institute in Kwami to address the issue in Gombe State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also hailed the recent creation of 13 Local Council Development Areas by Governor Yahaya, describing it as a bold move to improve grassroots education and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In her remarks, TSC Chairperson Na\u2019omi Maiguwa reaffirmed the commission&#8217;s commitment to build a capable teaching workforce in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She praised the governor for recruiting 1,000 new teachers and appealed for more recruitment to fill existing gaps caused by teacher retirements and resignations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Yusuf Muhammad The Secretary to the Gombe State Government, SSG Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has called for a mandatory framework to ensure the training and retraining of teachers in both primary and secondary schools in the country.
