Bauchi State government has announced plans to establish a Volunteer Neighbourhood Watch under the Ministry to address issues of land grabbing and encroachment into rights of way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commissioner, Ministry of Lands and Survey, Town Planner Abdullahi Muhammad Gwaram, made this known while addressing staff of the Ministry upon his assumption of office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He explained that the Neighbourhood Watch initiative is necessary to keep the Ministry informed about issues requiring immediate attention, as staff cannot be present everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commissioner emphasised that the Ministry is committed towards addressing land-related issues in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also declared the suspension of all issuance of “Cap Out” lands and the blocking of closed roads with immediate effect, pending the approval of proper guidelines and procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alhaji Abdullahi Gwaram urged staff of the Ministry to redouble their efforts in achieving the Ministry\u2019s mandate, assuring them that his office would remain open to suggestions on how to achieve the set objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commissioner expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Muhammad for entrusting him with the role and reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to implementing the administration\u2019s policies and programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Shuaibu Muhammad, assured that staff would give their full support and cooperation to ensure the Commissioner\u2019s success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his remarks, the Special Adviser on Land Matters to Governor Bala Mohammed, Surveyor Yohana Yashi, described the new Commissioner as a principled professional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Yashi pledged to work in collaboration with the Commissioner to achieve the Ministry\u2019s goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In their goodwill messages, former Bauchi State Accountant General Alhaji Abubakar Gabi and Walin Gwaram Allaramma Adam Adam praised the Commissioner\u2019s virtues, congratulated staff on his deployment, and prayed for Allah\u2019s guidance in the discharge of his duties.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
