National Association of Lady Pharmacists has presented an award of excellence to Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, in recognition of his contribution to the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Presenting the award during a visit led by the Chairman of Association Adamawa state chapter Pharmacist Rebecca Peter Drambi, the National President of the Association Pharmacist Scholastica Len, represented by Pharmacist Victoria Ukwu, said the award came after an appraisal of the Governor’s commitment to the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking as reflected in reports submitted from respective states of the federation during the International Day against Drug Abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She revealed that only Adamawa State, out of the 36 States, appeared to be at the center of the fight against the menace in Nigeria, a development that drew the attention of the national body of the association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While acknowledging the governor\u2019s developmental strides, she emphasized that Fintiri’s contributions to the profession, as well as the health sector, have caught the attention of the ALPs, hence the recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The State Chairman of ALPs, Pharmacist Rebecca Peter Drambi, who led the delegation, pointed out that the association over the years has been engaging in public awareness campaigns against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She maintained that this was one among many activities the association has been supporting in the state and appreciated the Governor for his visionary policies, particularly health-related and relentless advocacy for a drug-free society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri appreciated the association for recognizing his contributions in the health sector, saying that the award will only spur him to do more for the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He outlined the contributions of his administration in the health sector in both urban and rural areas and the efforts put in place to draw the attention of health workers to the state workforce by improving both the environment and welfare of nurses and doctors in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Governor therefore directed the state Head of Service and the Permanent Secretary, who are serving members of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, to work out modalities that will enable the Government to improve the welfare of Pharmacists in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He revealed that considering the importance of the pharmacist and their contributions in the state health services, the state government has prioritized the Pharmaceutical sector in the ongoing recruitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Governor Fintiri reiterated his commitment to supporting the pharmacist’s noble profession and adding more to the already built primary and secondary health facilities with the needed consumables and facilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
