Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has inaugurated the Adamawa State Pension Committee with a mandate to ensure fairness and transparency in addressing the long-standing pension liabilities of retired civil servants in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Auwal Tukur, at the inauguration, the Governor said the reconstitution of the committee reflects his administration\u2019s commitment to easing the hardship faced by pensioners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Auwal Tukur further announced that the Governor has approved 5 billion naira for the settlement of state pension arrears, along with an additional 3 billion for local government retirees, to be distributed fairly across all 21 local councils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The SSG emphasized that payments would be made strictly on a \u201cfirst retired, first served\u201d basis to prevent favouritism and ensure fairness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tukur commended the committee\u2019s previous performance and expressed confidence that, under the leadership of Chairman, Engineer Benson Jelani, it would continue to discharge its duties with transparency and diligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his remarks, Engineer Jelani expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for the trust and confidence reposed in the committee, assuring that they would carry out their responsibilities with utmost integrity and commitment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
