In a transformative move, the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) Bauchi has subsidised the cost of kidney dialysis sessions from \u20a640,000 to \u20a612,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiative is part of the Federal Government\u2019s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at reducing the financial burden for patients battling kidney diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking, the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Professor Yusuf Jibrin Bara, expressed enthusiasm that the programme has the potential of actualising government\u2019s dedication to making quality healthcare accessible to all, especially in the current economic situation of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, is championing the programme through the provision of additional dialysis machine and and abundant consumables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These resources according to him would ensure uninterrupted services, enable the hospital to provide services to a significant number of patients from Bauchi and neighbouring states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Professor Jibril Bara noted that so far over 45 patients have benefitted from the subsidised dialysis services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A statement by the Head, Public Relations Directorate, Usman Abdullahi Koli says the subsidised dialysis initiative is expected to significantly reduce the financial strain on families and improve the health outcomes for patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“By making treatment more accessible, ATBUTH is strengthening public trust in the healthcare system while addressing a critical medical need” it adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the beneficiaries who preferred anonymity expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and the management of ATBUTH, stating, \u201cthis programme has brought hope to many of us who could not afford treatment before, it is truly life-changing.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
