The Rural Electrification Agency (REA)says its expanding its intervention programmes to the education and health sectors to enhance efficient service delivery.<\/p>\n
The Managing Director of the Agency Abba Abubakar Aliyu disclosed this during the flag-off ceremony for the installation of a 1.5 megawatts solar grid and a 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Dala, Kano.<\/p>\n
Abubakar explained that the project is part of the agency\u2019s initiative to solarise health institutions across the country to improve service reliability and reduce dependence on the national electricity grid.<\/p>\n
He noted that REA\u2019s interventions also extend to agriculture and security, noting that 17 federal institutions have benefited under its education-sector projects.<\/p>\n
The Managing Director said the solar installation and Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment would significantly enhance the hospital\u2019s operational efficiency and improve patients\u2019 access to quality medical services.<\/p>\n
The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Isa Nurudden, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the agency for their support, saying the intervention would reduce electricity costs and lessen the financial burden on patients.<\/p>\n
