The Gombe State Police Command has confirmed the killing of two persons and the abduction of six others in a violent attack by suspected kidnappers in Pindiga, Akko Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n
According to a statement by the Command\u2019s Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, along the Pindiga\u2013Kashere Road.<\/p>\n
The report stated that armed men stormed the residence of one Yusuf Mohammed, where they shot and killed Yusuf, 31, and Faiza Mohammed, 28, before abducting 16-year-old Zainab Mohammed Yusuf.<\/p>\n
The assailants also proceeded to the home of Alhaji Yayaji Abdullahi and abducted his wife, Summai Yayaji (35), and two children \u2014 Al\u2019amin Yayaji (11) and Fatima Abdullahi (14).<\/p>\n
The two gunshot victims were rushed to Cottage Hospital in Pindiga but were confirmed dead by a medical doctor.<\/p>\n
Following the attack, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations led a team to the crime scene, where six empty shells of AK-47 ammunition and one live round were recovered.<\/p>\n
The police said tactical and intelligence-led operations were immediately intensified, with local hunters and vigilantes mobilized to assist in the search and rescue mission.<\/p>\n
The Command condemned the attack and assured residents that every effort is being made to apprehend the perpetrators and rescue the abducted victims.<\/p>\n
It also called on members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and useful information.<\/p>\n
