The Nigerian Navy has commissioned and handed over a newly constructed a Healthcare Centre at Mollah, Hyema Community in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, under the Chief of the Naval Staff Special Intervention Quick Impact Project.<\/p>\n
The facility, facilitated by Rear Admiral Kohath Levi, is a Civil-Military Cooperation initiative of the Nigerian Navy designed to honour serving senior officers while contributing to grassroots development and national security.<\/p>\n
Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas said the Quick Impact Project aligns with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to strengthen civil-military relations and improve the quality of life of Nigerians.<\/p>\n
Vice Admiral Abbas who was represented by the Director of Policy at the Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Adamu Yahaya, noted that the construction of the Mollah Health Centre underscores the Nigerian Navy\u2019s resolve to remain a force for good, and commended Rear Admiral Levi for completing the project on schedule.<\/p>\n
He urged the community to use and maintain the facility responsibly while also calling for sustained collaboration between residents, the Armed Forces, and other security agencies to promote peace and stability in Adamawa State.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wish to enjoin the beneficiaries to please use the facilities responsibly so they will endure,” he appealed.<\/p>\n
Declaring the centre open, governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri,
\ncommended the Chief of the Naval Staff for his commitment to strengthening civil-military relations through impactful community projects.<\/p>\n
Represented by the permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health and Human Services, Mathias Bubanani, Governor Fintiri charged health personnel posted to the facility to demonstrate professionalism and dedication to duty, while calling on the community to protect and make responsible use of the facility.<\/p>\n
He further appealed for peace and peaceful coexistence across the state and encouraged residents to adopt healthy lifestyles, embrace preventive healthcare practices, and utilize primary healthcare services.<\/p>\n
Facilitator of the project and an indigene of the area, Rear Admiral Kohath Levi, described the intervention as timely, noting that it addresses challenges of access to basic healthcare, especially in rural communities.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen the opportunity for this Quick Impact Project arose, I considered it a top priority for the community,” he said.<\/p>\n
He said the project reflects the Nigerian Navy\u2019s commitment to improving citizens\u2019 wellbeing beyond its core security mandate.<\/p>\n
Rear Admiral Levi expressed appreciation to the Adamawa State Government, Hong Local Government Council, traditional institutions, and the host community for their support, which ensured the timely completion of the project.<\/p>\n
He urged beneficiaries to take full ownership of the facility to guarantee its sustainability.<\/p>\n
Goodwill messages were delivered by the Chairman of Hong Local Government Area, Waaganga Inuwa, Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Bathiya Wesley, the Paramount Ruler of Huba Chiefdom, Tol Huba, Alheri Bulus Nyako, former President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, alongside other community leaders and other dignitaries.<\/p>\n
The event attracted government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents, who expressed appreciation to the Naval Headquarters for its sustained commitment to people-centred development under the Navy\u2019s civil-military cooperation framework.<\/p>\n
