North East Development Commission, NEDC, has distributed food and non-food relief items to about 200 patients at the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, as part of its humanitarian intervention in Adamawa State.<\/p>\n
The exercise is aimed at easing the burden on patients undergoing medical treatment and promoting social welfare across the North East region.<\/p>\n
During the distribution, the Adamawa State Coordinator of the Commission, Khalifa Lawan, said the gesture was designed to support patients facing economic hardship while receiving medical care.<\/p>\n
He explained that the intervention forms part of the Commission\u2019s social responsibility efforts targeted at improving living conditions and restoring dignity among vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n
Lawan added that supporting patients in hospitals is a key component of the NEDC\u2019s broader humanitarian strategy, particularly for those affected by hardship and conflict in the region.<\/p>\n
He also reaffirmed the Commission\u2019s commitment to partnering with credible organizations to ensure that interventions reach the intended beneficiaries.<\/p>\n
Medical practitioners at the hospital, Nurse Nati Turmet and Nurse Felicia Kadapheth, applauded the initiative and appealed to well-meaning individuals and non-governmental organizations to assist hospitals with essential medical equipment to enhance service delivery.<\/p>\n
