{"id":41,"date":"2025-01-02T18:08:08","date_gmt":"2025-01-02T18:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionigerianortheast.gov.ng\/?p=41"},"modified":"2025-01-02T18:08:12","modified_gmt":"2025-01-02T18:08:12","slug":"kano-state-inaugurates-committee-to-improve-blood-transfusion-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionigerianortheast.gov.ng\/?p=41","title":{"rendered":"Kano State Inaugurates Committee to Improve Blood Transfusion Services"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Khadija Aliyu <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kano State Government has inaugurated the State Technical Working Committee on Blood Transfusion to address gaps and challenges in blood transfusion services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The committee\u2019s primary objective is to ensure the safety of blood transfusions in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, inaugurated the committee, stating that its formation is crucial for the safety of blood transfusion in Kano State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He emphasized that the selection of committee members was based on their competency and expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The committee is tasked with providing technical expertise and advice on blood transfusion-related matters, developing and implementing guidelines and policies, and collaborating with stakeholders to improve blood transfusion services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The committee comprises representatives from various healthcare institutions, including the Hospitals Management Board, Private Health Institutions Management Agency, Primary Healthcare Management Board, and Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Academic institutions, such as Bayero University Kano and Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, are also represented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The committee\u2019s secretary, Dr. Hauwa Ibrahim, a consultant hematologist, will provide technical support to the committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The committee has the liberty to co-opt additional stakeholders as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Inauguration of the committee is a significant step towards improving blood transfusion services in Kano State, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients receiving blood transfusions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Khadija Aliyu The Kano State Government has inaugurated the State Technical Working Committee on Blood Transfusion to address gaps and challenges in blood transfusion services.
