A woman, Hafsatu Yusuf, has delivered quintuplets at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, with the Kano State Government taking full responsibility for their medical care.<\/p>\n
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Ministry of Health, Nabilusi Na\u2019isa.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, the mother gave birth to five babies three boys and two girls who are currently receiving specialised medical attention alongside their mother at the facility.<\/p>\n
The husband, Salisu Nufi\u2019u, a tricycle rider, revealed that this is his wife\u2019s ninth delivery. <\/p>\n
He explained that her previous delivery produced twins, making this the first time she has given birth to quintuplets.<\/p>\n
He expressed gratitude to the state government for the timely intervention.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis support has come at a very critical moment for my family, and we are deeply grateful to the government,\u201d <\/p>\n
The government noted that the intervention is part of broader efforts to strengthen the healthcare system in Kano, particularly in improving maternal and child health services.<\/p>\n
It reaffirmed its commitment to reducing maternal and infant mortality rates while ensuring access to quality healthcare, especially for vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n
