The Bauchi State Government says it will Coordinate and Sponsor its Volleyball Team that won the 2026 National Volleyball Championship to represent Nigeria at the International Volleyball Competition in China.<\/p>\n
The State Commissioner of Education Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim stated while receiving the Team, Officials and Coaching crew to present the Trophy and medals at the ministry of education headquarters in Bauchi.<\/p>\n
Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim who acknowledged the team’s resilience and determination at the championship, said government will provide all necessary support to enable them to succeed in China.<\/p>\n
“We appreciate you and we’ll continue to support you to realise more talents in the endeavour of sports, education particularly science field. We’ll make sure we give you opportunity to realise your potentials and with this you’ve already started winning”, the Commissioner says.<\/p>\n
He promised to replicate the same support in other sporting activities to provide opportunities for young talents to grow and excel.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Volleyball Team Coach Monday Dada said the competition featuring 19 states, saw the state play nine teams including the host Lagos to clinch the trophy.<\/p>\n
Monday Dada who thanked the State government through the ministry of education for providing all the needed logistical and financial support to enable the team participate at the championship, promised to make the country proud when it competes at the global stage in July this year.<\/p>\n
“We thank God for this success and we appreciate the State government for the feat, the team will represent Nigeria in China and we hope to bring9re accolades”, Dada commits.<\/p>\n
In their separate remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry Ahmad Ibrahim and Deputy Director Sports Bala Maijama’a acknowledged the team’s performance at the national competition and hopes for better outcomes when it features at the international tournament in China.<\/p>\n
Nine out of thirteen players from the State Team were selected to represent Nigeria at the Volleyball International Championship slated for July in China.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
