Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, says his administration will continue to implement people-oriented projects aimed at improving the living standards of citizens across the state.<\/p>\n
The Governor stated this during a live media chat aired on various media organisations in the state.<\/p>\n
Governor Yahaya explained that the newly established Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) were created to bring government closer to the people, particularly those at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n
He further stated that many of the projects executed across the eleven local government areas were carried out through joint efforts between the state and local governments.<\/p>\n
According to the Governor, there is at least one or two primary healthcare facilities in each of the 114 wards across the state\u2019s eleven local government areas.<\/p>\n
He also noted that the ongoing solar grid power project in Talasse, through the Balanga Dam and surrounding communities, would provide stable electricity supply to the area.<\/p>\n
Governor Yahaya added that his administration has executed several road projects linking communities and villages, thereby improving access for the transportation of agricultural produce across the state.<\/p>\n
The Governor said his administration has partnered with the World Bank on gully erosion control projects worth over forty billion naira within the Gombe metropolis.<\/p>\n
He also disclosed that the government has spent about six billion naira on water projects within the metropolis through the construction of new substations.<\/p>\n
However, he expressed disappointment over the activities of some residents who built houses on water pipelines, thereby obstructing the water supply infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Governor Yahaya assured citizens that his administration would continue to subsidise farm inputs, especially fertiliser, as the rainy season approaches.<\/p>\n
He cited the Gombe State Health Contributory Scheme, known as GoHealth, as one of the successful healthcare policies introduced by his administration, noting that other states now study and emulate the initiative.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
