Alhaji Ibrahim Alamin Little, the gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano State, has pledged to prioritise education, healthcare, youth and women empowerment if elected governor in the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n
Little made the pledge on Sunday in Kano during a press briefing in Kano,where he also announced Abdulkadir Shehu Bari from Rogo Local Government Area as his running mate.<\/p>\n
The ADC candidate said his administration would tackle the challenges confronting the education and health sectors, while also addressing the growing menace of drug abuse among youths in the state.<\/p>\n
He said the government would introduce social welfare programmes aimed at supporting vulnerable groups, particularly widows, orphans and out-of-school children.<\/p>\n
According to him, the administration will undertake a comprehensive overhaul of the governance system to ensure that opportunities are made available to deserving citizens irrespective of their social status or background.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce we are ushered into the Kano Government House after the 2027 elections, we will ensure that we tackle the decay in the health sector and provide meaningful social welfare programmes for vulnerable members of society,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Little said his administration would also encourage innovation and entrepreneurship by creating clusters across different sectors of the economy.
\nHe said the initiative would help transform Kano from a predominantly consumer society into a productive economy capable of creating jobs, generating wealth and improving the standard of living of residents.<\/p>\n
The candidate urged the people of Kano to support the ADC, assuring them that his administration would promote inclusive governance and give citizens the opportunity to contribute to the development of the state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
