The Kano State Government has announced plans to constitute a committee to investigate the root cause of the crisis that led to the loss of three lives during the demolition of illegal structures at Rimin Zakara, Ungogo Local Government area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commissioner for Information and internal affairs comrade Ibrahim Waiya disclosed this during a media briefing in his Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Commissioner the committee will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Waiya explained that the demolition operation was conducted at the request of Bayero University to reclaim its land, which had been illegally occupied despite compensation paid over 30 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The commissioner maintained that the state government’s action was justified, but acknowledged the need for a thorough investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that the security action was on self defense,but the committee would investigate further to ascertain the root cause of the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He sympathized with the families of the affected victims .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
