Gombe State University (GSU) is set to establish a Faculty of Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, disclosed this to newsmen shortly after meeting with the Gombe State chapter of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) in his office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Professor Sani Yauta stated that the Faculty of Engineering would, no doubt, contribute positively to the progress of the university, Gombe State, and the nation as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to NSE for its interest in the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering in the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Gombe State chapter, Engineer Mohammed Saidu, said that if established, the faculty would play a significant role in producing high-quality engineering graduates who would become employers of labour rather than job seekers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He assured the university of the NSE\u2019s support in achieving its desired objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The chairman further explained that Gombe State is well-developed with infrastructure that requires qualified indigenous engineers for effective management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a remark, the National Ex-Officio of NSE, Engineer Bello Gwarzo, stated that the Gombe State chapter of the society had achieved a lot, considering its commitment to partnering with the state government in promoting engineering activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
