{"id":582,"date":"2025-02-10T14:05:09","date_gmt":"2025-02-10T14:05:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionigerianortheast.gov.ng\/?p=582"},"modified":"2025-02-10T14:05:13","modified_gmt":"2025-02-10T14:05:13","slug":"kebbi-state-set-for-rigata-cultural-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionigerianortheast.gov.ng\/?p=582","title":{"rendered":"Kebbi State Set for Rigata Cultural Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Abdullahi Tukur<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kebbi State Government has finalised arrangements for the annual Rigata Cultural Festival in Yauri Local Government Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing journalists, the National Chairman of the Organising Committee and Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala Tafida, said this year&#8217;s festival would feature a range of spectacular and thrilling events aimed at showcasing the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the Yauri Emirate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He stated that the festival would include a trade fair exhibition, an agricultural show, cultural entertainment, and economic investment opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tafida further disclosed that, in connection with the festival, the committee had secured an investment worth approximately 200 million US dollars in the mining sector within the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our correspondent reports that the Rigata Cultural Festival derives its name from the Gunganci word Rigata, which means &#8220;Marine War.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The festival, which dates back over 200 years, began as a display of naval strength by the Gungu people, where warriors annually battled the most dangerous hippopotamus in the River Niger.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Abdullahi Tukur The Kebbi State Government has finalised arrangements for the annual Rigata Cultural Festival in Yauri Local Government Area.
