{"id":641,"date":"2025-02-14T06:23:57","date_gmt":"2025-02-14T06:23:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionigerianortheast.gov.ng\/?p=641"},"modified":"2025-02-14T06:24:06","modified_gmt":"2025-02-14T06:24:06","slug":"n20-billion-land-scam-kano-anti-graft-agency-arrests-high-profile-suspects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionigerianortheast.gov.ng\/?p=641","title":{"rendered":"N20 Billion Land Scam: Kano Anti-Graft Agency Arrests High-Profile Suspects"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Abdullahi Jalalludeen <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has launched an investigation into a massive land scam worth N20 billion in different part of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The commission\u2019s chairman, Muhuyi RiminGado made the disclosure while briefing newsmen at the commission headquarters in Kano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said no fewer than 15 suspects have been arrested, including the Registrar of the Kano State High Court, three lawyers, and four officials from the ministry of lands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado explained that a serving High Court<br>Registrar, a former Deputy sheriff, and a court bailiff were among those arrested in connection with the land scam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe suspects allegedly attempted to bribe state security service personel with N2 million, but their offer was rejected,\u201d RiminGado said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He commended the Chief of Judge of Kano State, Justice Dije Aboki for her support and cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RiminGado also commended Governor Yusuf for giving them a marching order to go after anyone involved in the scam, and for promising not to spare anyone found guilty, regardless of their position in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Abdullahi Jalalludeen The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has launched an investigation into a massive land scam worth N20 billion in different part of the state.
