The command&#8217;s band crew entertained participants along the route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing officers and men after the walk, Comdt Shafi&#8217;u assured Kano residents that the Corps would continue to work efficiently to ensure safety and security, particularly during the Ramadan fast. &#8220;We&#8217;ll also intensify efforts to protect critical national assets and infrastructure,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The celebration included special prayers at the Jum&#8217;at mosque in Kwankwasiyya City, led by Chief Imam Barrister Sheikh Habibu Dan Almajiri, seeking Allah&#8217;s guidance and protection for the Corps&#8217; personnel. A special church service is also scheduled for Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The International Civil Defence Day aims to:Raise awareness about disaster preparedness, prevention, and response<br>Foster community participation and engagement in emergency response measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Highlight the role of civil defence in ensuring public safety recognize and appreciate the dedication of officers towards the Corps&#8217; mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The NSCDC Kano Command&#8217;s celebration is part of a nationwide effort to promote civil defence and community engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Abdullahi Jalalludeen The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command marked the International Civil Defence Day with a road walk and special prayers to sensitize the public about the Corps&#8217; role in maintaining law and order.
