INEC: About 3000 People Completes the Ongoing Online Continuous Voter Registration in Bauchi State.

Two thousand, nine hundred and one prospective voters in Bauchi state have so far registered in the ongoing Online Voter Pre-Registration being conducted by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ibrahim Abdullahi gave the figure at a stakeholders meeting on Continuous Voter Registration, held in Bauchi.
Ibrahim Abdullahi who said the commission reached the figure on the 12th July 2021 explained that the Online Voter Pre-Registration exercise is subject to physical registration, where the biometrics of all those who registered online would be captured.
He added that so far about six hundred thousand Nigerians have completed their online voter pre-registration out of which about five hundred thousand were fresh registrants.
On his part, the representative of Persons With Disabilities, Haruna Sa’idu Pali who commended INEC and security agencies for engaging them in the electoral process called for more collaboration to achieve the desired results.
Also speaking, the State Director National Orientation Agency, NOA, Nuru Yusuf Kobi restated the agency’s commitment to sensitize Nigerians on the need to come out en-masse and register.
In their separate remarks, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sylvester Alabi and the State Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service Bappha Idris assured their readiness to ensure the security of voters and as well prevent foreigners from voting.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Political Parties, managers of Radio and Television Stations, Security Agencies, Civil Society Organisations, Persons With Disabilities among others.
