INEC Assures Electorate of Addressing Voter Apathy.

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, has embarked on a tour of three local government areas in Bauchi State to identify  voting points with a view to expand and decongest polling units.

The three local government areas are Dass, Ganjuwa and Shira and were selected to represent the three Senatorial Districts of Bauchi South, Central and North.

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Bauchi, Ibrahim Abdullahi said the development is also aimed at enhancing voter access and addressing voter apathy during elections.

Ibrahim Abdullahi  assured the electorates that voter congession at poling units during elections would be a thing of the past.

He expressed delight that the electoral officers in the three local governments have succeeded in identifying the right voting points.

On voters’ registration, the Resident Electoral Commissioner said by 28 of June this year the registration would commence together with Electoral Act amendment.
