INEC Concludes Distribution Of Sensitive Materials In Gombe

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Gombe state has concluded the distribution of both sensitive and non sensitive materials ahead of the Saturday March 18th Governorship and State House of Assembly Elections across the state.

Addressing Newsmen during the final distribution of the Materials at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Gombe branch, the INEC Resident Electoral Commission Mr Umar Ibrahim said items distributed included result sheets , Ballot papers and stamp pads

According to him the materials will be sent to the eleven local government areas in the state.

He said the Commisssion had earlier on met with all the gubernatorial aspirants and their chairmen to talk about security and how to make the elections successful.

Mr Umar Ibrahim explained that all hitches identified in the past elections have been corrected and they are presently on top of every situation.

He noted that the Commisssion will ensure a free, fair and credible conduct of the election.

The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner urged the residents of the state to conduct themselves peacefully before during and after the elections.

Mr Umar explained that the commission was committed to correcting all the challenges experienced during the presidential and national assembly elections.

Representatives of the political parties present who came to observe the exercise, expressed satisfaction with the improvements recorded in the distribution of materials by INEC.

All the fourteen political parties are expected to participate in the governorship and state house of assembly elections in Gombe state.
