Communities in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State want the state government to upgrade the former Teachers College popularly known as TC Toro to a higher institution to address the education gap in the area.
They also called for speedy completion of the ongoing projects across the local government area towards improving the lives.
The Chairman of the local government Alhaji Dan Yaro Geji made the call on behalf of the communities during inauguration of the state government Economic Empowerment Programme in the Local Government.
Alhaji Dan Yaro Geji explained that the call became imperative due to the absence of tertiary institutions and education backwardness in the area despite it’s growing population.
He commended Governor Bala Mohammed for the disbursement of empowerment materials worth seventy five million Naira noting that the gesture will improve their economy.
The State Governor Bala Mohammed expressed commitment of his administration to address their challenges before the end of his tenure.
Bala Mohammed listed road projects to be constructed in the local government to include Magama to Gumau, Rishi to Tulu as well as Rimin Zayam to Falama.
Our correspondent Isiyaka Wunti reports that similar empowerment programme was also inaugurated at Dass local government area with over five hundred people as beneficiaries.
