Islamic Clerics in the country have been requested to adequately educate people on the need to be vaccinated.

The Executive secretary Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Malam Abdulrahaman Ibrahim who made the request at an interactive session with Islamic clerics held In Bauchi said testing and abiding by all laid down protocols on covid-19 are among the major ways of fighting the pandemic.

Malam Abdularahaman Idris Called on Nigerians to support the fight against covid-19 for its total eradication in the society.

He called for fervent prayers to seek God’s intervention to actualise this years Hajj exercise and to over come the challenges faced due to covid-19 pandemic.

The Executive Secretary said the interactive forum was to rub minds with Islamic preachers on ways to effectively educate people on the laid down protocols on covid-19 .

Malam Abdulrahaman also wants them to educate people on the danger of rumour mongering especially as regards covid-19 which he said has negative effect on the society.

In their separate remarks the chief Imam of Bakin Kura Jumaat Mosque Imam Mahmoud Isa Duguri and the deputy chief Imam Bauchi Central Mosque ,Ahmed Naibi said laxity by Nigerians led to the restriction imposed by Saudi Arabia on citizens of the country to perform the religious obligations.

The Islamic Clerics called for prayers from Imams and the entire Muslim Ummah for the world to overcome the challenges posed by covid-19.
