A group of APC Eminent Elders in kano called APC Maslaha Group has called on warring groups in the All Progressive Congress in Kano to sheath their swords to allow peace to prevail for the interest of democracy and successful Election Results of the 2023 Elections.
The Director-General of the Group Alhaji Yusif Ado Kibiya gave the Charge during a media briefing held at NUJ secretariat Kano.
He said the internal Conflict that was currently taking place at the party was very worrisome, hence it became necessary to seek the support of All and Sundry within Kano APC to embrace dialogue to achieve maximum success.
“Maslaha Group wishes to ensure that Democratic process at all levels is adhered to , and of course, supporting fielding credible candidates into political offices thereby ensuring effective service delivery to our teeming populace in kano”
He said the group felt that the conflict between the Government side led by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and another faction led by Senator Ibrahim Shekarau was a result of Domination , Competing Values ,interest And Ambition.
“Looking at the teeming APC Supporters in Kano , the Conflict can be said to be unnecessary, ill-timed and unwarranted “
Alhaji Yusif Ado Kibiya maintained that the conflict may end up causing Disunity and Disharmony Among Party members, Project an embarrassing posture about kano state, which was known as the home of the Democratic process and political Dexterity.
He noted that if the conflict was not properly addressed it may increase chances for the opposition party to win the forthcoming elections.
The Director General said the APC National Secretariat needed to address the issues securely and democratically.
He added that the concern of the Maslaha Group was peaceful resolution of the unwarranted conflict with the aimed of moving the party forward.
Among the members of the Group theat were present during the media briefing includes the director organization of the group Alhaji Kabiru Kamakasa, Director Publicity , Alhaji Hamisu Lamido Iyantama, and Secretary-General of the Group Professor Mukhtar Yusif(Banana).
