Kano Government trains farmers and herders on Conflicts Resolutions techniques.

Adequate Sensitization and Training of farmers and herders on Conflict Management and Resolution has been Described as a Major pillar of Addressing frequent occuarances of Conflicts between farmers in Nigeria .
The Managing Director of Kano state Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA) and also the Chairman of the Commitee set by Kano state Governor on finding ways of Enhancing Shelter belt in Kano Dr Junaidu yakubu Mohammad stated this during the opening ceremony of a 5 Day training on Conflict Management and Resolution for Kano State Stock Routes Demarcation Commitee Members held in Kano.
He said in an effort to address the menace of farmers herders conflicts Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje Constituted a commitee to looks the Manace and provide suitable solutions .
Dr Junaidu yakubu Mohammad noted that the Sensitization workshop was Organized for the committee members ,so that they have the requisite knowledge of resolving Conflicts .
The Managing Director maitained that the training would be step down to the local communites with the aim of Curtailing farmers herders conflicts .
In a remark the Parmanent secretary Kano state Ministry of Agriculture Alhaji Balarabe Karaye said the sensitization workshop was very timely.
“Conflicts between farmers and herders have drastically reduced in Kano, this was Achieved by the modalities put in place by Governor Abdullahi Umar Gandujes Administration in adopting conflict resolution strategy”
He said surveillance strategy has been adopted in all local communites so that herders who migrated from other areas would be identified and monitored ,aimed at ensuring conflicts were been resolved.
The Parmanent secretary noted that animal graze ground has been provided at Dansoshiya in Kiru local Government Area ,stressing that social Amenities were also provided at the grazing grounds so that herders would have a befitting life style .
Earlier the chairman fulani associan Kano chapter Fuldan malam Sani Adamu appealed to their members to ensure that their cattles do not trespass into farmland of farmers especially as this harvesting period.
The training was attended by participants from the 44 local Government Areas of Kano state
