The state commissioner of culture and tourism, Hajiya Ladidi Garko made the disclosure, shortly after defending the ministry’s budget, at Kano state house of assembly.
According to her,the ministry of culture and tourism would build a cultural economy, through festivals and cultural traditions, so that the legacies of existing heritage do not fade.
She pointed out that,preparations have reached advanced state to host a cultural carnival, with the aim of promoting the culture in the state.
Also speaking,the chairman Kano state pension board Trustees, Alhaji Habu Muhammad Fagge represented by the permanent secretary, Yahaya Nuhu explained that,the state government had approved the disbursement of billions of naira, as pension,gratuity and death benefits.
The chairman house standing committee on pensions,Ali Abdullahi Wudil stressed that, the 2024 proposed budget would pave way for more innovative ideas on pension, according to global practice.
Others who defended their budgets includes, SUBEB,Aminu Kano college of legal and Islamic studies,Kano state ministry of finance,Kano state history and culture bureau among others.
