LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS OF BAUCHI STATE HAVE BEEN ENJOINED TO PROVIDE ONE HECTARE EACH FOR THE PLANTING OF TREES

Bauchi State House of Assembly has been urged to the state government to direct all the twenty Local councils in the state to provide one heater of land each for planting of trees in order to avoid adverse effect of climate change across the state.
Similarly, the house also called on Government to construct road that linking Rudu, Yausa, Ganga, Zari, kamafnin Dan fulani and other neighboring communities of Ganjuwa east constituency.
This squeal to motions moved and sponsored by member representing Giade Dan’umma Bello and Ganjuwa east constituencies Gazali Abubakar respectively.
Speaking at plenary presided over by the speaker Abubakar Sulaiman, member representing Giade Dan’umma Bello noted that most of states in the country suffers from climate change cause by different factors to include felling down of trees, bush burning, burning of fossil fuels among others.
The lawmaker said climate change impact negativity on human lives and health as well as threaten essential ingredients of clean air, safe drinking water, nutrition supply and shelter.
On the issue of road construction, Gazali Abubakar said the move will ease transportation especially for sick and pregnant mothers to nearby hospitals as well as reducing child and maternal mortality in the area.
Still during the plenary, a bill to established the institute of Adult and Non-formal Education in Kirfi local government has passed into law.
Similar bills to established Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency BASEMA and bill to Established Bauchi History Bureau passed second reading.
The house which later referred the bills to it’s committees on Cabinet, Culture and tourism for further legislative action also approved the template of its Committee on appropriation for 2022 MDAs budget defense.
Meanwhile, it has adjourned it sittings to 21st December, 2021.
