MEGA CHRISTMAS CAROLS: FINTIRI SUES FOR PEACE.

Christians In Adamawa State have been admonished to use this period of Christmas season to pray fervently for peace, unity, and development of the state and the country at large.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri gave the charge at the 2021 interdenominational Mega Christmas Carol and Nine Lessons organized by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Adamawa State Chapter.

The Mega Christmas carol which was held at Mahmud Ribadu square Yola commenced with the lightening of Christmas light by the secretary to the Government of the federation, Barrister Boss Gida Mustapha.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy,Chief Crowther Seth congratulated the Christendom for witnessing the 2021 mega Carol service, acknowledging that it was the God’s mercy for yet another season of joy.

He lauded the CAN Chairman,Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza for his steadfastness as a religious leader, adding that Adamawa state government is appreciative of the mutual relationship and understanding enjoined under his leadership.

The Governor reiterated that peace and security remains the priority of his administration, noting that the relative peace and stability being witnessed in the state could not have been possible without the prayers and cooperation of the adherents.

In his welcome address, the state chairman Christian Association of Nigeria,who is also the Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese,Most Reverend Stephen Dami Mamza thanked the participants for finding it worthy to grace this year’s Christmas carol.

He said the event was to offer praises to God in commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ who brought about salvation to mankind.

The CAN chairman prayed that the birth of Jesus Christ will continue to bring about love, joy, unity, peace and harmony among others.

Bishop Mamza also used the gathering to bring to the notice of Christendom that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has donated ten hectres of land to the CAN for a new cemetery.

He encouraged Bishops, pastors and church leaders across the state to sensitize their members on the need to register and acquire their voters card so as not to be disenfranchised during elections.

The Guest preacher at the occasion pastor Cosmos Ikwe, District overseer of Redeemed peoples mission, Yola in a sermon tagged “Unto us a child is Born”, admonished Christians to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness and love.

The 2021 mega Carol drew people from far and near, including religious leaders, traditional rulers, politicians among other prominent personalities.
