Minimum wage: Bauchi State sets committee to avoid strike.

Few hours to the expiration of the ultimatum issued by the Nigerian Labour Congress for the planned industrial action, Bauchi state government has constituted a committee to look at all the greviances of the labour unions.
This followed a crucial meeting led by the state Governor Bala Muhammad and leadership of labour and trade unions in Government House Bauchi
Addressing Journalists after the meeting the Chief of Staff Government House Dr. Ladan Salihu said, constituting the Committe was out of the government’s commitment to addressing the problems of its workers
Dr. Ladan Salihu said the committee which include the representative of government and labour unions is to chaired by the Deputy Governor Senator Baba Tela adding that a comprehensive of the committee is expected in four weeks time.
On his part, the state NLC Chairman Comrade Danjuma Saleh who expressed satisfaction with the commitment made by the state government in addressing the issues noted that the Union was more concern with instability of salary payment in both state and local governments level.
On whether the Labour will join the planned industrial action tomorrow as earlier directed by the national body of the Union, comrade Danjuma maintained said their position would be made public after a stakeholders meeting.
