Minister of Defence led CDS and Service Chiefs to operational visit to Borno.

The Minister of Defence Major General Bashir Magashi rtd has arrived Maiduguri, the Borno state capital for an operational visit.

The Minister was accompanied by the Chief of Defence Staff General Lucky Iraboh, Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Isaika Amao and representative of Chief of Naval Staff, principal staff officers from Defence and Service headquarters.

The Minister is currently receiving operational brief from the Theatre Commander Operation Lafiya Dole Major General Farouq Yahaya at the headquarters Thaeter Command, Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri.

Radio Nigeria gathered that Major General Magashi is expected to address troops of Operation Lafiya Dole and also visit wounded soldiers at the 7 Division Hospital.

He is schedule to pay a courtesy visit on Borno state Governor Professor Babagana Zulum at the Government House.

This is the first time the Minister is leading the new set of Service Chiefs since their appointment in January this year.

Correspondent Dauda Iliya reports that recently there have been renewed attacks by the insurgents on boarder town of Damasak, headquarters of Mobbar local government which led to some residents fleeing to Niger Republic.
