The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has inaugurated the Batch C of the N-Power, National Social Investment Management Systems, NASIMs.

At the inauguration in Abuja, the Minister, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq said the initiative would ensure transparency and help address irregularities in the Scheme.

She explained that the programme had provided employment opportunity for 500,000 beneficiaries since its inception in 2016 with over one thousand now employers of labour.

Hajiya Sadiya said the latest Batch would be streamed into groups as the Federal Government targets one million young people.

“The N-power programme provides young Nigerians with an opportunity for employment since its inception in 20116. Under Batch A and B with about 500,000 beneficiaries catered for the programme provided an opportunity for 109,823 N-power to utilise the skills they acquired and savings to become business owners. We have reached another milestone in recruiting and onboarding of the Batch C N-Power beneficiaries beginning with 500,000 beneficiaries in the first stream and a subsequent 500, 000 in a second stream”

The Minister further stated that the selection process would be based on merit while other National Social Investment Programmes would subsequently be incorporated into the management system.

“As we launch the N-Power Batch C all N-Power Batch C applicants are required to log into the N-Power self-service portal on Portal on www.nasims.gov.ng and update their records, following which they may proceed to take the mandatory online tests to progress to the next level of selection.

The Federal Executive Council recently approved an award of over 2 billion Naira contract for the design, development, deployment, and management of the National Social Investment Management System for the National Social Investment Programme.
